Micron Document
The `!fakeTec`! is a PCB that connects a Pro Micro-compatible microcontroller board to a LoRa module, and has the same form factor as the `F0af`_`[Heltec V2`:/page/wiki.mu`path=Heltec_V2]`_`f, `F0af`_`[V3`:/page/wiki.mu`path=Heltec_V3]`_`f, and `F0af`_`[V4`:/page/wiki.mu`path=Heltec_V4]`_`f development boards. It is compatible with the `F0af`_`[HT-RA62`:/page/wiki.mu`path=HT-RA62]`_`f LoRa module, and any other module with that same pinout. There are also variants designed for the EByte E22 and E220-series LoRa modules.

>>Firmware

The fakeTec is supported by Nickie Deuxyeux's fork of the `F0af`_`[RNode`:/page/wiki.mu`path=RNode]`_`f firmware.`:cite-ref-1[`F5bf`_`[1`#cite-note-1]`_`f] It can be flashed using the RNS Moscow flasher.

>>Bootloader

The OTAFIX bootloader can be flashed to the Pro Micro to enable OTA firmware updates. This allows for the board's firmware to be updated over Bluetooth, which is especially useful when updating solar nodes in hard-to-reach places. However, for this feature to be useful, the firmware must provide a way to remotely put the board into device firmware upgrade (DFU) mode. Entering DFU mode normally requires physical access to the device.
